How much will it cost?

The conference fee for World Assembly 2019 will be US$925 per person, which covers the event itself with all the sessions and resources, as well as accommodation, food and airport transfers. You will need to pay for travel and visa costs in addition to this.

If this seems an impossibly high amount to you, please be aware that there will be some scholarships available to help towards the cost. We want to work together to make sure that each national movement can be represented in South Africa.

How and when do we need to pay?

More information will be communicated in due course, but if you have specific questions relating to payments in the meantime, please email worldassembly@ifesworld.org.

How can I apply for a scholarship?

World Assembly is an opportunity to practice stewardship. Because funds are limited, we want to focus our support on helping those from countries and national movements who would not otherwise be able to afford the cost of sending someone.  Scholarships are not intended for national movements who could afford to send up to two participants to World Assembly.

Scholarships will be available to cover conference fees only, or conference fees plus travel. Depending on circumstances, the scholarships will cover 50% or 90% of costs.

Scholarships will not cover costs associated with obtaining a visa for South Africa.

Applications for scholarships must be submitted by your World Assembly delegation manager (normally the general secretary of your IFES national movement), and scholarship recipients will be required to complete a brief report after the event.

Scholarship applications for IFES World Assembly 2019 are now closed.

Please only apply for a scholarship if you have no other means to send your participants to World Assembly.

If you have any other questions or concerns about the scholarship scheme, please email worldassembly@ifesworld.org.
